I could not see any cracks but on the other hand, I didn't want to take a chance.

There is lots of confusion about left and right, I guess that is why they send both. I always refer to a door as left or right hinge. That's the only way I can keep it clear in my mind.

It's very "pay it forward" of members to offer the other left over support to others.

I agree Norty. If you're facing the fridge, my opening door handle is on the right. [which would be a left hinge] I have a spare bracket for those facing their fridges that the opening handle is on the left which would be a right hinge.

I used BOTH the brackets that came with my retrofit kit. I figured "why not?" Whichever swing you have, the other hinge will fit the top/bottom (can't remember which way it goes).

Yesterday as I opened the door to my Norcold N8X the door fell to the floor! I am attempting to contact NorCold this morning. Jayco wrote up a incident report as we are 9 days out from warranty expiration. What a lousy design the weight of the refrigerator swings on a cheap plastic piece! Sure hate to spend $200 on a replacement door with the same cheap design! Any suggestions anyone?

Order the hinge reinforcement kit when you get the new door.

https://www.amazon.com/Norcold-63416.../dp/B008KWP6MC

The problem doesn't occur on all units so I think a lot has to do with who installs the wood panel at the factory. I feel some crack the hinge when that is done and it eventually fails.
