Those pictures probably cleared up a lot of confusion for folks. I'm happy you posted them.

The extra bracket has been claimed. SmokerBill is the winner.

After looking at my pictures closer I reexamined the plastic bracket and it does appear to have two hairline cracks in it. My old eyes never saw them. I'm not going to take the door off again just to verify because all I would do it put it back on.

I'm sure glad I did this retrofit now even more than before.

edatlanta,

Thank you for doing a proper photo shoot of this replacement. I don't even know yet if I have the fridge but I've been worried about the problem since I read the thread but too lazy to go look at models and what not. Now that a proper picture has been posted I can see exactly what I'm looking for.

If mines plastic Ill get my dealer to order me a repair kit and fix it properly.

Sometimes a photo makes things that much easier.

Thank you Ed! I appreciate it! Now I have 3 projects for my TT- door hinge, replace outer stove vent assy, and replace city fill assembly.

I can assure you the door hinge will take no more than 5 minutes. Just unload the door before you remove the top screw. The door is heavy enough by itself and I just laid my down flat on the floor so I could see how the retro part attached. Also use a BIG flat blade screwdriver if the same gorilla installed yours that installed mine.

Back in this post Ed offered a Norcold door bracket for a LEFT hand opening door.
http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f5...tml#post436496
I claimed it and Ed graciously mailed it to me, no charge. But I must have mis-read his post, because my door is a right hand opener.

So I will mail it to anyone that needs it. Just make sure your door opens from the left side, not the right, and it will work. Send me a PM if you want it.
