Road trip

I would like feedback on the drive from Thibodaux , Louisiana to the Grand Canyon Arizona in August ?? The map quest shows for me to go up to I-40 west so hows the drive , route and should I be cautious when getting out past Amarillo, TX.because of the desert area with less fuel stations any info will be appreciated. I will be traveling in a 2006 Greyhawk

Hi Karl, We have yet to make that trip by coach, but we did this trip by motorcycle in '03.

On a MC, we would never travel more than 125 miles without a stop for fuel and a butt break. Fuel in a coach or travel trailer should not be problem considering you have much more fuel with you.

We rode I-49 north, and west to Dallas on I-20, west through Amarillo (American Quarter Horse Museum), then I-40 west for the "Petrified Forest". a couple of Route 66 stops along Arizona I-40, then Flagstaff. The Grand Canyon is north of Flagstaff. Then we toured into CALF, OR, WA, ID, MO, and on, and on, and on....

This trip totaled 25 days, and over ten thousand miles. We never had a fuel or motel issue. In a coach or Camping trailer, it will be a piece-a-cake.
