RV'ing near Busch Stadium

I have a business meeting for 4 days at or near Busch Stadium in St Louis. Most folks are staying at the Hilton Stadium including people I am taking from my company. I have found I like staying in the RV better than in a Hotel Room. Anybody have any reports of staying in one of the RV parks downtown and transiting to the Stadium?

Thanks,

Mike

Can't speak for the campgrounds themselves, but I grew up in St. Louis. My parents still live there and I visit frequently. Downtown can be very sketchy. Some great neighborhoods and some not so great. Definitely stay out of East St. Louis. West side of the city seems to be the best. I would suggest somewhere a little out of town and drive in. Just my opinion. It's worth what you paid for it.

Look across the river in Illinois also. May be some rv parks close. Casino Queen in E. St Louis.
West St.Louis KOA.
Bellview Mobile home and RV park, Fenton, Mo. ( friends stayed there. 20 minute to the arch.

Not to much around any closer and I have not been to any of these..

The Casino Queen in East St. Louis has a very nice campground. The area is in the heart of a ghetto, but the security is very good. Like anywhere, your safety is your responsibility. There is great camping at Carlyle Lake 50 miles east of St. Louis, but it will require an hour drive every day, each way. The 2 areas are World's apart, but you do have options.

I spent a few months at Cahokia RV Parque last summer while working in St. Louis. It was the only place I could find at the time. It's right across the Mississippi from Busch Stadium. Wasn't a bad little place. I heard gunfire every night but it didn't seem real close.

The Casino Queen rv park is a little closer looks like.

You can but that doesn't mean you won't still hear gun shots...

It's the one you don't hear that's the problem. I was in the middle of the Cahokia park so I knew that the bullets would have to go through at least one trailer to get to me.

Some how that does not give me much comfort. I would be in the Host Hotel! Camp another day!

Living an hour away from St. Louis and frequenting there often, I can't say I recommend anything in E. St. Louis. An acquaintance of mine had his entire car stolen while at the casino queen and my parent's vehicle was broken into and burglarized while there. If it were me, I'd try to stay somewhere over by St. Charles (avoid Ferguson) on the West side and make sure everything was under lock & key!

I wonder about all the wind or hissing noise around Busch? (from the commercials)
