Saying Hi

Hello - We are the proud Owner of a 2012 Seneca FS37 we bought about 8 months ago. Swapped out our 1999 Winnebago Chieftain 35U for the Super C. Pulls my daughters horse trailer to rodeos great. Love it so far.

I've always been a Jayco fan. I hope I avoid some the challenges others have posted! Looking forward to learning more about the Seneca...although its too late anyway right

A few questions/comments:
1. I think I was able to confirm a water leak on the bunk slide was the horizontal trim as described in another thread.
2. I have 3 compartments that leak on the passenger side that I believe are from water getting over the top of the door, sitting on the gasket, then seeping through to the inside. Anyone had that one?
3. I had a leak above the outside TV that fried the DVD/stereo. I think its coming from the kitchen window or the TC surround? Anyone had this happen?
4. I'm thinking about adding air bags or something to give me a better ride ht in the rear when pulling the horse trailer as the rodeos are often uneven ground. Do they make air bags for these M2s?

thx

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your Seneca as much as we do ours.

Regarding your issues, I also had an issue with water leakage into my outside TV compartment. My problem was due to the actual TV compartment coming loose from the slideout wall it is mounted in. It seems they sometimes did not put enough screws into the mounting flange. Rough roads apparently tend to cause it to dislodge and pull out slightly at the top creating a path for water entry. But it is barely noticeable from the ground, when I got up on a ladder I discovered that the seam was open. My unit is at the Jayco Service facility right now, repairing this leak is one of the items they are taking care of for me prior to warranty expiration.

And in respect to the rear suspension, I believe the 2012 Freightliner Senecas may have a standard spring rear suspension. Newer units, but I am not certain when they changed, have what they call the "Airliner" suspension consisting of air springs with auto-leveling valves. To add airbags to your unit would likely be an aftermarket solution and I cannot recall ever seeing another early Seneca owner talk about it here on JOF. It is possible, I just never saw it and I "troll" quite a bit!
