Sell the Fun Finder

I found out yesterday how much I will get on trade for my 2014 Fun Finder Xtra 27.6 toy hauler and as expected, I am disappointed. I did not want to but I think I will try to sell it on my own before I trade it. My Seneca is at least 6-8 weeks away so I have some time.

I am trying to decide whether to use RV Trader or even ebay. Any suggestions from anyone who has sold their campers?

Craigslist. Sold my pop up quickly on it. Plus it is free.

X2 on Craigslist, it's free and usually your trailer will be seen by locals

That's what I used for my last 2 trailers and they both sold in a week. I bought my current Jay Feather 24T on Craigslist the day after I sold my old one.

If you have Facebook, check to see if your area has a garage sale/city group page. We had one that was over 10K member strong. We posted our trailer and had people waiting in line to look at or purchase it in less than 24 hrs. We sold the trailer for our asking price within two days. Craigslist and a few other sites had no hits. Facebook can be useful other than reading a bunch of political junk posting.

Good luck

Sold my last trailer for twice the trade-in value set by the dealer in less than a week on RV Trader.

I'd start on craigslist. If nothing after a few weeks, then pay to list on RV Trader.

I bought and sold a TT on Craigslist. Just use their anonymous email option opposed to listing your phone # or direct email address in the add. No matter what you will get fraud emails sent, just delete and move on, it's part of the process unfortunately.

The frauds are super easy to see, nobody is buying a TH for a gift sight in seen. Nobody is going to send their "agent" to look it over since they are working out at see.

Equally as easy to see are real messages from actual interested parties. After an initial contact from real people I share my direct contact.

Ok, Fun Finder Toy Hauler is listed on Craig's List and RV Trader. It's been all night and still no calls

I did get a text from a Liberian government official who will have his agent transfer funds and arrange for shipping shortly after posting the add. That one sounds promising. LOL

We live in a small town but the local newspaper has a "shopper" that services many small communities in south Georgia. I listed our unit for sale in there and got my asking price before the ad ran out. A good $5,000 over what the dealer was going to allow on trade. But I have had good luck with Craig's List as well. Listed my 2007 Dodge Ram online and sold it the same night the ad appeared. We had to put the actual deal off for 2 weeks as we had a one week camping trip planned the next week. Had no idea it would sell that quickly.

Definitely hold off before letting that dealer "steal" your trade-in. Do you have a family member who would be interested in the purchase? We've sold two of our former trailers to sons, and it worked out really well.

So I have a good friend that had expressed an interest in my camper but I couldn't get him to commit. Once I listed it in RV Trader and started getting serious inquiries he decided he wants it. I think the price I told him is a couple thousand less than I can get from others which is ok because I don't think he would buy a camper if I don't sell mine to him. I would rather get less money but have a friend enjoy it. And it's still $5K more than the dealer offered on trade.

Now I just have to wait for him to give birth to a baby kidney stone before we proceed. He was not happy when we last spoke.

Glad you have interest and hope all works out with your friend. When we sold our Rpod and Premier to our sons (at a really good deal for them), we were thrilled that those trailers are still in the family - we really liked both of them. In 2008, we sold the Shasta we had owned for 22 years to someone here in our little town and still see it from time to time being used by its new family...warms our hearts.
