Seneca 36fk problems

Hello everyone. I just purchased a 2012 Seneca 36fk from North Carolina, (I love in CA). I'm on my way home now. I've put 2,000 miles on it already and have noticed some interesting things. My biggest problem would be in OD cruising around 55-75 I get this loud whistling noise, it's not from the wind because if the trans down shifts the noise goes away. Looked everywhere and read that people have had the problem but no one has said how to fix it.

My seneca also takes a good 5 seconds to start. Whether it be a cold start or a start after fueling up. I have to sit on the starter for a few seconds before it fires, anyone have this issue or is it normal?

I've read the 2012 Seneca came standard with side cameras. But mine doesn't seems to have them. They don't turn on with the blinkers. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the help fellow MHers

My 2014 had a similar noise, there was TSB for the shifter cable that solved the issue for me. It was very annoying, I described it as a very rapid "chirping" and the noise did change or go away depending on engine RPM. My repair was done under warranty, I have no idea what it might cost on a unit out of warranty. I know they had to order a parts kit and it only took a few hours until they called to tell me it was completed. I will search for the actual TSB number.

Do you get the "Intake Heater" dash light come on prior to starting? If so you need to wait for it to go out before cranking. But even with a working light the heater itself may not be working. My Seneca's intake heater's fusible link (that supplies power to the heater) went bad causing my heater to not work even though the dash light was on. It would crank for several seconds before starting like you describe. Once repaired (also under warranty) it now fires immediately once the heater light goes out.

I wonder if a prior owner possibly disabled the sideview cameras. If it indeed has the cameras they should work with the turn signals. I found them to sometimes be distracting, especially if I was navigating (via the dah GPS) in a city where several turns in succession would occur. The delay in the cameras switching would cut out the map and I would miss turns. So I installed a switch on the dash that I can flip to disable or enable the cameras. They are helpful sometimes.

I found this posted by another member (memphis02):

One other thing you might check is the Shifter Cable. If it's happening once you get into top gear at highway cruising speed and goes away immediately after you let off the throttle, that might be your issue. Some have described it, almost as a high-pitched cricket noise or something similar. For me, it was positively deafening. I took mine to FreightLiner over the issue and it was addressed under TSB-355625 / KPP-294201 and isolator kit 2650 fixed the issue. The kit was only $100 but they took 2 hours to install it so it ended up being about a $300+ fix. -It did solve my particular issue, however and was well worth it.
