Seneca 37FS - Getting HDMI to Outside TV

Over this past weekend I swapped out the In-Motion dish for the Trav'ler dish to get HD DirecTV. If we want to watch outside I'm going to need to run an HDMI cable from the inside TV area where the DirecTV receiver is to the outside TV. Now I could simply lay it out while watching, but I'd like to try to install one permanently. Has any done this successfully and, if so, what route did you take?

The other option would be to put a second mini receiver outside when I want to watch outside and use the coaxial cable already routing from the inside area for the Cable TV. I could disconnect it from the Cable TV splitter and use it to connect to the DirecTV splitter. Assuming I could add a switch to go back and forth between Cable TV and DirecTV to make like easier too.

Thoughts, suggestions please. :-)

I dont really have any real help but I noticed on mine that the previous owner ran a cable from the upper kitchen cabinet down to the lower cabinet and then through the wall and into the outside TV. You can see the exposed cable between the upper and lower cabinets but does not really stand out.

Thanks. I'm considering that as well. I could even use some wire channel between the cabinet and the countertop.

Hey Andy -

We had the same issue with ours and I ended up going with a wireless HDMI setup rather than trying to run wires and risking damaging something. Here is what I went with:

IOGEAR Long Range Wireless 5x2 HDMI Matrix PRO with 2 Additional Receivers

It's not cheap, but it is an option. It has worked great for us.

I went the route of using existing coaxial cable. Put A/B switches at the inside TV and the outside TV to receive the CATV or DirecTV signals. Added a permanent piece of coaxial cable and an HDMI cable to the TV inside. Added an outlet outside with HDMI and coaxial so we can put a box out there too when we want to watch outside. And with the ability to have a box at each location we can watch different channels. Just took the Seneca out to nearby industrial park to test it all out.

Thank God it worked!
