Seneca instrument cluster and CB radio

Just curious if any Seneca owners had noticed that the clear plastic over the instrument cluster seemed to be etched like some chemical has been spilled on it? If so, any cure?

Also, I installed the Cobra CB, the one with only the mike exposed, but it is pretty useless due to static and ambient noise. Anyone found cure such as new antenna, etc?

Thanks.

My cluster cover is good, just a little dusty in the attached picture. Is yours worse than that?

Could someone have wiped it with a solvent or something?

Do not have a CB so I can't help there!

I tried a 4' fiberglass antenna, mounted on the passenger side mirror bracket. I could never get the swr. Set right on it. I came to the conclusion that their is too much fiberglass on the body of the coach. You can buy a antenna that will work specifically for boats, or fiber bodies. I don't have one yet, so I don't know how they work.

The cluster should be antiglare. If its glare causing the problem, try an antiglare sheet for computers.

Foster15 ours is like that too. When we got it home I first cleaned it with water and 100% cotton cloth. Still has the original wipe marks from whatever someone used on it. I was going to try some Mother's plastic polish in a small area to see if that will remedy the problem.

Regards

Well today I tried Meguiars Plastx clear plastic cleaner & polish, I could not find my Mother's. Anyhow, the Meguiars did not remove the wipe marks.

If it bothers you, you may have to install a new one!
