Seneca Parking Brake Recall

Has anyone else received a notice of recall for your Seneca dealing with the auto parking brake? I got notice notifying me of recall but not for a repair, just telling us there is a recall....

We have a 2015 Seneca as well. Haven't seen a recall notice yet - was it something in the mail from Jayco?

I just completed the registration with Freightliner about 2 weeks ago, so mine might be delayed. I'll keep an eye out for it...

Brake Recall

I also received a recall notice, but mine said nothing about not driving just that I would get a second notice to take it in for repair.

It was about the auto park brake function activating while driving. I'm just going to disable mine so it does not activate when I shift the trans into park. I'll have to manually pull the parking brake knob.

I got my keypad notice about Oct/Nov. I think you mean a " thermal event " as the notice says. Mine didn't catch fire but the solenoid for the dead bolt would pop out about two inches before the door shut. I had to put the key in the door and unlock it to close it. Then the solenoid would click in and out by itself. I taped a piece of cardboard to the inside jam where the electrical contacts are to stop it. I took it in last week to get the repair. Seems ok for now.

I guess I had better check and see if my husband filled out our registration with Freightliner. Our's is a 2014 would it be included in that recall or just the 15's??

Just got the notice for the repair on the auto brake. Still have not called freight liner to see how long for them to get the part.

I received the parking brake notice this week. Planning a trip to the ACC tournament in my new 2015 Seneca RB so needless to say was concerned. Called my local Freightliner dealer and said they needed to order the part which they described as just a bracket. Person I spoke to said would not be a problem driving approximately 18 hours with current parking brake issue.

I have had the recall completed. My Freightliner center ordered the parts one day and put on the next.I do not use a RV dealer for anything much really.

Our dealer said they completed our registration, but we have yet to get the first recall info. Heard about engine noise one here and called our nearest Freightliner shop, gave them the vin number. They checked it out, ordered the parts then we dropped it off for the repair. Have yet to get anything on this break recall. Are the 2014's included in this recall? Did check with our dealer again and the lady who registers them promised to double check to make sure Freightliner had gotten our's. Hoping for the warranty and our sake that it has been done.

I also have a 2014 37TS and my local Freightliner dealer was able to quickly verify my unit was subject to the parking brake recall by checking the VIN. I never did get a letter, probably because the issue was corrected even before the registration of me as the first private owner was processed.

The fix took less than a day at my local dealer. Hope that is the end of that!

i just purchased a 2014 36FK with a Keyless entry that is doing the same as you describe. Do you remember the notice # ? When I taked with Jayco yesterday, they said my problem was an actuator and there was no recall. The rep. was very rude and short with me about the whole matter.

Took the rig to Freightliner in SC for lube & oil, etc. While there they checked my VIN, it was on the recall list, so they did the parking brake mod while it was there.

Parking brake recall service was completed a couple of weeks ago. Had taken my Seneca in for another service related issue . I had not received a notice, have only had the unit for about two months .2014 TS.
