Seneca Trailer Hitch

Where can I find info on the receiver hitch installed on our 08 Seneca Kodiak 5500. Would like to replace and/or upgrade to class 4 hitch. Thanx

Appears to be classified between a Class 3 and Class 4, at 8000 lbs rating. That is likely the top rating of the chassis with nothing on board but the factory motorhome equipment, and maybe even less. I wouldn't want to tow more than that for reasons of liability more than anything else. How much weight are you planning on towing?

Remember you have a stretched frame that has to be taken into account when figuring hitch capacity.

Seneca Trailer Hitch

Hey guys thanks for the prom prompt response. We have purchased a 20x8ft enclosed trailer in which goes our rollerskate car(Scion IQ) 2127lb. and our Goldwing Motortrike 1100lb. plus the weight of the trailer somewhere less than 6000lb. Hitch looks to be pretty beat up, including some cracks. Opinions please???

Having trouble learning how to put images on post. At 63, struggling with technology a bit. Thanx for patience.

Send JAYCO your vin# using their contact page, they should be able to tell you which hitch you have. If my memory serves me correctly (no gurantees) our 08 had a 10,000 # "HIDDEN HITCH". I thought you wanted something higher by your first post.

Yes Grumpy, it is a Hidden Hitch. It appears it has a special rub wedge welded to the bottom of the receiver tube and a special bracket for the seven pin trailer connector. Jayco part number or Hidden Hitch product number is not easy to find. Thanks

I think HIDDEN HITCH is now part of DRAW TITE, which is owned by Cequent.
