Sewer Hose stuck in rear bumper

I was putting a new sewer hose in our new Redhawk 26XS. Fed 20 feet and it stopped short of going all the way in. Tried pulling it out and it was stuck. Twisted and pulled on it and got half of it out. I should be able to push it out the the other end with a 1 X 2. There must be a screw sticking through the wall.

Is this a manufacture defect ?
Has anybody had this problem ?

Some hoses will not even fit in the bumper, my Rhinoflex had some "ears" on it that I had to cut off in order for it to fit, and even now its a bit tight. Perhaps yours is too tight as well and could need altering. Some members have added a sewer hose carrier and do not use the bumper. A few discussions on the subject:

Check out some PVC rain gutter square tubing at LOWES. Attach it to the trailer bumper or hang it up under the trailer....

Problem solved with sewer hose. I took a 2 X 4 X 8' and pushed it out from the other side of the rear bumper. There were paint drips inside the bumper that were hanging up the hose. Running the 2 X 4 back and forth, I could hear paint drips cracking off. Its all clear now.

Easy fix found…

Same problem with sewer hose getting stuck in square storage aka rear bumper. Read that this is quite common. Researched various alternatives: pvc pipe, tote in storage area, etc.

I’m guessing China didn’t get the measurements quite right when they decided to make a cheap copy and got the connectors sized a bit large.

Finally chose the cheap route and used my grinder and sander to shave off about 1/16” on each of the 4 flat surfaces on each female connector.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

Years back, when I kept my hose in the bumper, I could twist my Rhinohose fittings and the hose would fit in the square bumper.

I moved on to the 6" fencepost sleeve and never looked back. I have moved mine several time until I found a great location that I could access easily.

I did the fence post thing and haven't looked back. I hated using the bumper...
