Slide out motors blew case apart???

Both my front and rear slide out motor cases shattered into several pieces. The rear one happened a few months ago and the front one was recent. I was able to match up the parts then drilled the (6) screw holes out and put thru bolts in, so far they are still holding and working but I have no idea what caused this to happen. There wasn't anything in the way of the slides and the tracks were clean. Has anyone else had this happen?? I don't want it to do it again so I'd like to know what caused it. Both motors were made by Power-Gear.

Call the Power Gear technical support line if not already done. They would have the best metrics on incidents, causes, and prevention.

If you're lucky, there may even be a "hidden warranty" from Power Gear. It's not uncommon to have a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) that you won't know about until you talk to the manufacturer.

On my 2005 Seneca HD the same thing occurred in rear slide. Expensive part but somewhat easy to replace. Hand cranking in the rear slide was a pain.
