Solar Panel Rigid or Flexable

I was looking into future install for solar to help out charging batteries when camping off grid, I was not too keen on putting screws into my roof. Anyone had problems with the flexible type? I know they do not get airflow underneath and loose some efficiency from heat . I am sure the bracket mounted ones will create a little more drag causing my gas millage to go from 7 to 6 mpg ha

My go to guy stopped selling the flexible panels as they had to high a rate of failure. According to him the lack of airflow underneath causes them to over heat esp in hot climates. 8 years ago I had my panels installed on the roof of the RV and have not had a single problem.. Your A/C unit causes more drag than a panel ever could..

Yes I have heard that supposedly the newer types with fiberglass backing are said to dissipate the heat better, may try one and if it fails go to the other type
