Like others here, I set my cruise on 60/63 mph unless the speed limit is slower. I seem to constantly remind myself how heavy the rig is, and stopping power.

In our motorcycle touring days (12 years), it was not uncommon to achieve 600 mile days ... those days are gone. We now settle for 300/350 mile days.

It's all about "smile to the miles".....

With that said, I have noticed the RV speed demons drive a truck with 5th wheel units .... YEP ....

I just took my first long trip in our '08 GH, and cruised at ~63 going down to FL on the interstates, and coming back home I got up to 70mph just to see what the handling was like but stayed in the 63-65 zone the majority of the time.

I try to keep it around 62 - 65, but on Interstates with 70 mph limits, I have occasionally found my speed had crept up to 72 or more, I then decrease speed to 65 again. The motorhome feels much more stable at 65, and my gut feeling tells me it is a much safer speed.

I find that at 60-65 it seems to do less gear hunting and gets the best gas mileage. Also going 65 with the cruise control on in a 70 you find that you don't have to keep trying canceling the cruise and resetting due to someone going slower. A lot less stressful drive as well.

Set cruise at 63. Very rarely have to pass any other vehicles.

62 MPH is the sweet spot for us, gives a bit over 11 MPG.

I am new to class c. I just bought a redhawk 29xk. My old configuration was a 6500lb f250 pulling a 35ft 10000lb travel trailer. I experienced a white knuckle 11 hour night mare driving from Western York to the Hatfield Mcoy trails. After moving to the redhawk, I immediately ordered Road master rear and front anti sway bars and the steering stabilizer for my new unit. I like driving the speed limit. But also recognize the limitations of a gasser. Plus I am just not that comfortable with the rpms required to climb those hilly inclines. I hope my paranoia goes away with these upgrades and I can enjoy a long trip at the posted speed limit without the cringe of a semi passing me or the wind whipping me

60.
Why rush and waste gas pushing that aerodynamic brick any faster?

We have the same model and came from the same setup as well. After the first trip towing our Jeep I order sway bars, steering stabilizer and rear trac bar before leaving the campground. After installation it's an entirely new driving experience. You'll be glad you went ahead and did the upgrades. It was even comfortable driving it at 75 (the speed limit here) on the interstate. I didn't stay at those speeds but was curious how it would handle the extra speed.

Wow - I guess I'm the only one who doesn't mind doing 110+ in our Greyhawk?

My Redhawk took a bit to dial in. i adjusted the helper springs, did a wheel alignment, three times to get just right and set the tire pressure to max PSI. Now it handles the wind and will cruise @ 75mph with no issue.

All while towing our VW Golf Wagon on a dolly.

Love it, seems logical

You set yours at 65 when in a 70 zone so you don't have to cancel because of others going slower But what about all the others that have to cancel due to you going slower. Makes sense to me

Low 60's. I don't try to get in a lot of miles per day either. Part of the overall experience is the trip getting there,
