Talked to Hellwig today

I'm trying to gain a greater understanding of where those Hellwigs should be set relative to the main springs. I told him what the rig was and it's GVWR. This is on my 2017 Greyhawk. I mentioned the controversy in the forum and that some felt the 4 inch setting to be not correct or even faulty. This is what he told me. When they are installed, they are set at the 4 inch setting which provides an additional 1000 pounds of support. He said the shackles will not loosen from bumps. You can bring in additional support as you see fit for your comfort. The settings are like this:

4 inch = 1000 pound support
3 inch = 2,750 pound support
2 inch = 3,500 pound support which he said is max.

Finally I said, if it we're your rig, where would you set it. He said 3 inch for the 2,750 pound support. Incidentally, while I was under there, I noticed they forgot a lock nut on one of the shackles, so I'm going to inspect further. It seems you really got to get under these things to pick up little mistakes that happen.
