Toilet issue on new coach

Our 2015 TS came with a Telford Aqua-Magic Style Plus toilet. The problem I have is that it doesn't add water with a half-press of the pedal. It only adds water after the ball-seal has started opening. Obviously that's not going to work... When I pointed it out to the salesman, his reply was huh, I guess that's the way they're doing it now... I told him I really don't think so...

The installation paperwork that was with it doesn't show any adjustment for that. Has anyone else experienced this? If there's no adjustment, I'm thinking the toilet needs to be replaced - which I hope isn't the case...

It's a problem with the water valve. It's been a while since I worked on one but there may just be something disonnected (spring or similar). It should be an easy fix, but the toilet probably will need to be removed unless the tech is a contortionist.

I have that same toilet and a slight pressure on the flush lever with my foot allows water to fill before the valve opens.

Could be an adjustment?

I have to say the toilet in my Greyhawk 31fs is a bit fiddly. Not overly happy with it.

Like norty1 says, just slight pressure on the flush valve will allow water into the bowl on my 2014 TS with the same unit.

I'll sell you mine. First thing I did was replace it with the Dometic 310 with a foot flush.

Since I will need to pull the toilet to get at the valve, I'm going to replace it with the toilet we had in our last unit. We really liked it.

In researching the Thetford toilet there were quite a few reports of the valve not shutting off and flooding their RV.

Grandpa, we had the same issue, and the dealer would have had the unit 5 to 6 weeks (because of how busy they are). So, we took it to the Jayco Factory Service Center, with a list of other stuff that needed warranty work. They fixed everything, and FAST! The had the tools, and expertise, and didn't have to order any parts, 'cause they had everything that they needed right there.

When the fix stuff, they don't just change out parts, the replace the thing (so they just replaced the entire toilet with a foot flush model... only took them a few minutes).

Great folks up there, we just took 4 days and played tourist while they worked on the coach. Lots to see and do (and eat) in the area!

That's great to hear that Jayco has such good service. I'm in that area fairly often, so I will definitely keep that in mind. We're getting ready to head out for a month-long trip with our brand-new (and untested) TS. The Dometic toilet that I ordered is arriving today. Plan to change out the toilet tonight and take off in the morning. Keeping our fingers crossed that the toilet will be the extent of the issues...
