tow dolly when being towed

I am wondering in the event of a breakdown and tow situation, my tow car does not have a tow hitch, what would I do with the dolly?

Do the tow trucks usually allow the dolly to be towed behind the towed motor home?

I may have to install a hitch on my Ford Fusion. Not really needed for anything else. Really don't want to do that.

We started with a towed that had to have the front wheels up and a dolly years ago. We never had a situation where the dolly HAD to be towed but we did move the dolly often with the towed with had a factory class II hitch.

Since then we have had many toweds and they have all been four down so we sold the dolly. But we have also installed a class II hitch on each of them along with the required base plate. Plus a lighting kit for towing. Those three things are just something we plan to install on each towed when purchasing.

If you're going to use a tow dolly you should really put a hitch on your toad. When I had a dolly and took the MH in for service, I had to do something with the dolly. Also, in case you have to back up, you can't back up with the dolly attached. Hitch has also been used for bike racks.
Install hitch and lights, you won't be sorry.
