tv replacement in my class c

Could anyone give me some advice on replacing my original little tube analog tv that sits on a pivoting shelf in my MH ? I would like to replace with the biggest flat panel lcd but I am new at the inginuity of MH ideas of how to secure such a light weight tv without making more holes either on the swing out shelf or the walls themselves. All ideas are welcome.

Good luck on your venture! We have a new trailer and hesitate doing anything requiring making new holes.... but we know at some point we will. Sure is scary though.

Well I now have to replace the tv and the reciever too looks like because the tv restraint ripped through the lazy susan and fell it also broke my reciever too, Go figure and to top it all off the Good Sam Extended Service does not cover it due to that the clamp is not a covered item under the warranty so any other damage is neither covered too ! I went to Best Buy with my M/H and they brought out to me all tv flat panels and sized up for me the best unit possible to fit which turned out to be bigger than what I thought I could have fit myself 22".

Will you be able to fix it to the wall or just perch it somewhere? We have a 22" in our new tt and it seems to be a good fit with a nice size screen. We aren't sure if we want to add one to the wall in the bedroom.... but we don't plan to do that any time soon. Enjoy!

I was just at my local (and only one) Jayco dealer and they happen to have the new flat panel mount that Jayco is now using in their rvs and possibly tts. It didn't cost very much it was about 29.00 and it is a very heavy duty steel. I will post a pic soon. I am going to either remove the lazy susan from its place or I am going to use it as the base for the panel mount, but I am going to make it so it no longer operates as a turntable any longer. The mount does have a large wing nut in the back that will give it it's radius too.

Just a thought.... in our new tt, the tv is mounted high on the wall so that we have to crank our necks back to watch tv. Before you mount it on the wall, sit on the couch/chair and sit as though you are watching tv. Get an idea how high up you are willing to look up while watching tv for any length of time. Then mount the tv based on that (if you do the wall mount that is).

We are trying to figure out a way to lower our tv about a foot with out having to make new holes and remounting the tv. It would be nice if they made up/down pivots/arms like they do the swing arms you mentioned.

Looks like you have figured out how you want to install your new flat screen tv.

Others who are following this thread may want to consider using Super TV Grips by Thumb Lock Products to secure their tvs to a shelf. We purchased a set of these grips that have super tight adhesive on the grips themselves and strong plastic straps that are adjustable. We used the grips to secure an old style 19' tv to a shelf in a 2007 travel trailer. (Our 2010 trailer has a metal mount for the flat screen tv that looks like the one in the photos you posted). We purchased the Super TV Grips from our local Jayco dealer.

How do those tv grips work ? Do you have a ny pictures of them ? I still have to some what mount the second 22" flat panel in my bedroom some what temporary because I wish to bring it out when I wish to view it outside on the outside entertainment system.
