User error I'm sure: receptacles not working

Well I'm still new to the RV world and my Redhawk. This is the second time this has hapened but I can't remember whtat the problem was before. The receptacles aren't working. I've checked the breakers but they are fine. Ugh I hate the learning curve. Thanks for our help.

Did you try to reset your GFCI buttons, just a thought. You should have two. Are all the recepticals dead or just a few?

My trailer has three GFCI receptacles. One in Kitchen at the sink area, one in the bathroom near the wash up sink, and one in bedroom hallway where we have another sink area for getting dressed etc...

Since the trailers use those flat type snap in receptacles in a daisy chain fashion when one of the GFCI trips it will kill the 120VAC receptacles in the daisy chain hookup.

Just push the reset button to reset them...

Is your outside receptacle a GFCI if so see if it is tripped.

They say there are no stupid questions, but I'm about to ask one...Are you plugged into shore power? See, I told you! I just had to start at the beginning

Lol, I was thinking the same. But I'd add one, is the circuit breaker at the shore power post flipped to on? It is very common to find the turned off. I turn it off before plugging in.

There is no GFCI outside cabinets. The one inside at bathroom is ok. I am not plugged into shore power but my batteries are fully charged. They usually work when I"m on battery. Maybe the GFCI is faulty. Seems to me last time this happened it was something simple but of course old age prevents me from remembering what it was!! How can I check the GFCI to see if its working?

You have to be plugged into shore power for the outlets to work, unless you have a whole house inverter installed.

+1. My power outlets only work if plugged into shore power.

Your inverter is shut off.
or you need to start the generator.
If you plan on making coffee, you had better start the generator

According to the 2016 manual...to run a residential fridge.

The OM doesn't say anything about all the outlets being powered by the inverter.

But I don't have a redhawk to know first hand.

The only outlet that works on the INVERTER is the television. The others only work on shore power or generator.

You are correct sir, only the TV outlet works with the inverter with my 2014 Greyhawk.
Doesn't help much for my Cpap machine in the bedroom.
My dealer said it works on all the outlets, shows you how much he knew. Spent about
two hours monkeying around trying to figure out why I had no power, until I followed this thread.
Thanks to Grumpy for pointing this out.

Yes, spoke to a Jayco factory rep last month at an RV show questioning why only single outlet (overhead TV) is wired to inverter. With inverter able to handle 1000w on our 2015, it should be wired to at least one mid-coach outlet and best-case, and additional one in bedroom I would think. He said they are aware of this shortcoming and may change for future.

LOL, We had to run an extension cord from the TV outlet to the sink area, so that the crock pot and coffee maker could be running while we are driving. We put them in the sink and run them off the inverter, so dinner is ready when we get to the campground!
