Vinyl trim on Granite Ridge

I have a 2004 Jayco Granite Ridge 3100ss. These models have vinyl trim pieces covering the seams between the "cap" and the body of the RV on the back end. These strips have all come loose at one time or another and are a real pain to keep attached. My main question is, has anyone else on here experienced this problem? I don't know if these pieces are just for looks, or if they actually are supposed to keep moisture out etc. I have contacted Jayco, but in the meantime I would like to know how someone else feels about this.

I have an 06 Greyhawk 31SS and I'm having the same problem on the leading edges of the body, especially where the right angle curve occurs. Looks like the vinyl has actually shrunk about 3 inches. I'm thinking about getting a roll and reapplying the whole piece. Looks like it goes from the bottom up and around to the other side and down. I've listed my RV on RV Trader and I don't want anything like that to cause a potential buyer to shy away.

Just to be clear, I am NOT talking about the vinyl trim that fits inside a channel and covers screw heads etc. What I am referring to is a flat piece of vinyl that attaches with two sided tape or some other adhesive that has long since failed. This trim piece covers the edge of the plastic cap that overlaps the side of the RV. These are vertical pieces except for one strip across the top on the back end. I don't think I have seen this stuff in a roll, but if someone knows where I can get some let me know. Have not heard anything back from Jayco. They are usually very prompt with their responses. Maybe I have them stumped!!
