Warranty Opinion

Will be taking delivery of a 2012 Melbourne 26A in September. Dealer has a 7 yr/70K warranty available for the unit. Drive train is 3 yr/36K and as everyone knows Jayco is 2 yr.

What has been the experience of everyone? Not worth it. If it is going to breakdown because of mfgr or assembly it will happen in the first 2 yrs?

Skip the extended warranty? $2800 costs.

Seldom ever worth it - wish I had a dollar for every letter or story I have heard about someone whose extended warranty wouldn't cover something that broke down.

Best suggestion I have seen is to take that $2800 and put it in a savings account and take money out for repairs as would be covered by the extended warranty - more than likely, you'll have money left at the the end of 7 years.

Good luck!

We did not purchase it. No regrets. We are on our 3 year with the RV. The dealership may give you a month to reconsider, so you can get your feet wet and then decide. Like other have said, put the $2800 in the bank or just GO CAMPING wit hit! LOL

We picked up our new Melbourne in June. Do yourself a big favor, DO NOT repeat DO NOT sign for nor drive off the dealer lot with warranty issues pending.
Items need to be fixed or replaced at the dealer before you sign and leave.
If you want details of how Jayco has screwed us to date, send a seperate message.
