Like I said in the title the water heater leaked and flooded the back of coach. I found it when I pulled in from our trip. I vacuumed it the best I could and put a dehumidifier in and left it on for 5 days. It seamed fine. I used it this last weekend and as we walked between the bath and bed room it got softer and softer. That and the water heater also quit. I'm in NJ and was hoping for some recommendations - references on who to take it to get it repaired. The water heater was a Atco. Is there a better water heater that I can replace it with. If it's coming out I would rather replace it with something better it never got real warm. Just warm enough to be acceptable
A motor coach bouncing down the road for 10 years could have generated other sources of leaks. You should verify that only the WH caused the problem. For the floor to get spongy it had to be leaking for quite a while.
I have heard good things about Connecticut MotorCoach on another forum. Google them to see where they are located.
BTW, it would help if you include in your post that you have a 2006 Seneca.
Like Walt said you have deeper problems. A floor won't get soft from one leak over a short period of time, it has probably been leaking for a long time and now let go enough that you found the water. As far as replacing any heater will work as long as it fits, check various model drawings so its easy to connect gas, elect, water lines, etc.
The top hose that screwed on to the water heater had come loose. When I opened the access door I saw it spraying. I just got it a couple months ago and it wasn't soft. It could have been on its way out and this finished it off. Either way I need to get it fixed.
