Water Pump

I have a 2005 Jayco Greyhawk. I winterized it but the water pump would not turn on. Any ideas? Also, where is the pump located? Thanks!

Does the light come on when you turn the pump switch to ON? If not, you are not getting power. Check the fuse in your fuse and breaker panel. If you are getting power and the fuse is OK, then there is a wiring problem somewhere - or the pump motor is bad.

Yes Scout, The light on all 3 switches turns on. Do you know where the pump is located?

The pump is located in different places in different trailers. Mine is under the kitchen sink. But it will be some place that is accessible enough to perform winterizing. Maybe someone with your model can reply?

Mine is in a boxed in area in the rear storage area. It is so quiet that it is real hard to hear. Only way I know if it works is it pumps water.

This may sound like a dumb question Lisa, did you turn on a faucet after you turned on the water pump? If it is primed, it won't do anything until you turn on a faucet of flush the john.

I have a Greyhawk 31FS. Little different model but my water pump is located under the bed. To get to it you have to remove 4 wood screws. There is nothing the average person needs to access this panel for. There are no switches, dials, valves or anything else in there. I have my panel open right now searching for why mine will not turn off. I have the opposite problem. I finally had to disconnect a wire going to it for now.

My question would be if you winterized then why would you want it on? If it is on then you have an empty tank anyway so nothing to pump except air. Wondering if your in the middle of winterizing and need to pump the pink stuff into the lines.

The pump has a pressure switch at the outlet to shut it off when the system reaches a preset pressure. If you have no water in the system, there will be no pressure to close the switch and the pump will run until you turn it off at the control panel. Sounds like it is working as it is designed to.

As for accessing the pump - most come with a couple valves and a clear, flexible hose for drawing antifreeze from a jug when winterizing. If yours does not have a winterizing kit, you can purchase a fitting, with valve and suction hose to install on the pump inlet that will let the pump draw from the jug of anti-freeze, instead of the fresh water tank. So unless you want to pay your dealer to winterize, you can access it and do it yourself.

I have an 08 GH 31ss, and my water pump is under the bath vanity close to the exterior wall. You may have to take a panel out inside the sink cabinet to see the pump.
