Heading to the Grand Canyon area. Starting from central Texas so we will make several stops at the "have to's" in between.

We've always stayed at some sort of campground. WalMarts aren't my cuppa when they get deliveries all night. If push came to shove I think I would rather sleep in a rest area for a few hours.

It is nice to have the app for Wal Mart overnight parking just in case.

Our "planning " is often reserve in the morning for that night.

Living in the northwest (Eastern Oregon) we do a lot of 7-10 day trips in the northwest.
Tomorrow we are headed for Missoula Mt via Stanley Id (one of my favorite spots) Challis, Salmon, Hamilton and so-on, possibly Great falls. The return will be from Missoula over Lolo Pass and down the Lochsa river. If time permits we will camp at the Dworshak Dam in Orofino Id.
Most of our plans are after we get out of city limits and after the first night we do a little planning, mostly non freeway traveling!!

The trip I plan to take later in the year will be southern Colorado Mesa Verde national park and on into northern New Mexico to see cliff dwellings etc. Maybe a train ride in Colorado..
Sorry to bore you we have many more plans, we will camp out and watch the eclipse of the sun in August...Mel

Nice trip, we have stayed at Lake Mead several times in March on our way south. Water is very low but still nice, Fire Fox Canyon is fun out of Overton, as well...Mel

We plan on traveling to Nashville in July. My sister and hubby will be traveling from FL in their Jayco to meet us there for a week. It's the first time we have camped together. Should be a hoot!

We went to Santa Fe for two weeks, came home for 8 days, left again and have just returned from two weeks visiting Olympic National Park, Victoria, BC, Mt. Rainier National Park, Craters of the Moon National Monument, Lava Hot Springs, ID, and home. This, of course, includes all the beauty along our way. Great trips - we never want them to end. We didn't stay anywhere but campgrounds because we had a traveling companion with us who needed a cabin or yurt; but when we're alone, sometimes we stay in Walmarts or Cracker Barrels. We're picky about where they're located for safely sake.

We are leaving Northeast GA in July and heading North hitting Sturgis and surrounding area for a day or two then moving over to Cody, WY for a week of motorcycling riding with a group of friends. Then heading down towards Denver, on to TX, LA, MI AL and back to GA. Staying a bit here and there and just enjoying life on the road.

Same here! We had an issue with several not wanting us to stay then having a hard time finding a camp stop. My husband is not very patient so since then he makes sure I have us a spot booked in a campground each night. Rather know we have a place than go hunting for one.

You can't do that here in the south if your wanting to stay close to the beaches. All our favorite spots are booked a full year in advance. At least that's been our experience for the past two years. Told a very good friend with a new camper about a place we love, he wanted to try it, but can't get in till next summer.

Our big trip this year is a week in Seaside Oregon, this will be our families maiden voyage. I did take the girls to a CG that is about 20 miles from home a week after we bought it but the wife was not in town so this is our first real trip as a family.

I'll be going from Weatherford, Texas to Muncie, Indiana for the US Radio Control Soaring Nationals... as a competitor in 4 events. It's a long haul...
