Windsheild Sun Shades

OK ..... I have googled until my fingers hurt, and still nothing.

I'm searching for a set of sun shades (windshield, drivers door, passenger door) for our Ford E450 cab on our Jayco Grey Hawk 29MV.

I know there are plenty of sun shades out there. I'm hoping to find something that "fits well" in those three positions ....

What are you using when parked..... to block out the harsh sun while traveling or camping.

We went with the Delux Windshield Cover by Adco. Purchased last year at Camping World. It goes on the outside of the cab and covers all three windows very well. It has two loops which fit over the doors and then uses magnets and your windshield wipers to hold it in place. If you want to open the side windows to get a cross breeze the vinyl rolls away leaving screens in place that still offer a little shade while keeping bugs out.

We tested it out in Myrtle Beach last year and it significantly cooled the interior of the cab. Better I think, then those reflective screens that still allow the heat energy to enter the cab before reflecting it back. It also did very well in the wind. We were right on the ocean and had some very windy days, the cover never budged.

The box says it fits model years 1996-2014... I think that is simply because of Camping World overstocking a few years back... Nothing changed in the 2015, fits mine just fine and I believe same would go for the 2016's.

Bought one from Amazon last year for our 2015 Greyhawk (same Ford F450 chassis). Works great!

Thank you for the info, but I don't want the outside cover. I would like a the ones that have reflective capability and install on the inside, and are custom made for the Ford E450.

Any ideas .....???

We use covers from a company called Heat Shield (www.heatshieldstore.com) for our Seneca. They make custom fit inside windshield and side window shades that are reflective (gold or silver) on the outside. I checked the site and they make shades for the E-350 / E-450 chassis. Sounds like what you're looking for.

First off, thanks ..... I went to that site, clicked on FORD, then '16, then a drop-down menu for Ford products. I saw it offered heat shields for the "F-450" but no mention of the E-450.

Yet, your post indicates the E-350/E-450 Chassis. SO, I'm a little puzzled.....!!!

Interesting - I didn't check the 2016 model year, although all of the other model years include the E-350/E-450 series. I don't know if there were significant changes between the '15 and '16 E-series (I suspect not), but you might want to call or e-mail the folks at Headshield and ask. I found them very friendly when I called to get some replacement suction cups for ours.

OK ..... I called "Heat Shield" and although they have a difference on the Ford drop-down menu, I was assured the '15 and the '16 were the same in the E450.

So .... It's done. I ordered the E450 Windshield and side door inside covers and the '16 Subaru Windshield dash cover as well.

Again, thanks for the help.

OH..... The Heat Shields reps were indeed very helpful.....

Love my Heatshield window shades.

Last rig had the heavy black mesh to put outside, but that let folks see in at night. Also it didn't really stop any heat from coming in, nor did it provide any insulation at all. I just wish I could get a custom cut kit for all the other windows.

Oh and the side window panels can fit over the fridge opening should you need to remove your door for repairs and keep stuff cool.... Mistakes = experience...

Like many here I would have been capable of shopping Lowes for the needed materials, trim as needed, for installation on the interior of the doors and the windshield.

But, in all honesty, I have seen that kind of set-up. I prefer the beauty and reliability of a product that heatsheild.com can provide.

To each his own ......

For heat rejection, we use the outside Adco Deluxe cover as someone mentioned earlier. Because it doesn't really solve the privacy problem, we also use an inner curtain around the inside of the cab on our 06 Seneca (Kodiak C5500). The interior curtain is not a good insulator, as the sun's rays still penetrate and heat the glass like an oven in there, on a hot day, and it radiates into the rest of the cab and the interior of the living quarters. The Adco does an awesome job! You may find the Heatshield does a good job as well, as it reflects. Unfortunately, the glass will still probably get hot and radiate.

Just purchased Heatshield window shades. We really like them, and they fit perfectly.
