Winterizing Tankless water heater

I have one of the Girard tankless water heaters. This fall will be the first time I will be winterizing my 2016 Greyhawk. Is there anything special I have to do in order to winterize the water heater? I have previously winterized a 2004 Greyhawk that had a water heater with a tank and bypass valves. I use the pink antifreeze. Thanks for any suggestions.

You don't need to do anything special except have the switch off so it does not heat up. Also remember to drain it first.

Good call on turning the heat off... this will be my first winterizing with the tankless as well and I am not sure I would have thought to do that.

Not sure if yours is the same setup as on Seneca but there is a drain line by the HW heater on mine.

My Girard manual says for extended winter storage you should winterize the heater by one of two methods to ensure no water remains in the heater that could freeze. The methods Girard recommends are compressed air purging or actual RV antifreeze filling.

My unit does have freeze protection when turned on so long as you have propane and battery power. It will cycle the burner to maintain a water temperature between 38 and 58 degrees. But this is not a substitute for proper winterization during long-term storage where freezing is suspected.

Can someone post a picture of the drain release so I can know if I did it right? I pressed on the trigger shaped item but NO water came out.
