Undercarriage Sewer Storage (cont.)

This is a variation of the sewage storage designs I have seen on this and other RV forums. Thanks to all who post their ideas!

All parts purchased from Lowes or Home Depot.

I used a 5"x5" plastic fence post cut to extend about 2" beyond the frame rail on the curb side of the trailer and about 7 inches beyond the frame rail on the street (sewage dump) side of the trailer.

The street side end is covered with a 5"x5" fence post cap secured with 2 stainless steel screws.

The post is bolted through the outside leg of the trailer frame rail with (2) 3/8"x1 1/2" bolts, (2) fender washers, (2) 3/8"x3/8" rubber bushings and (2) lock nuts on each end of post.

The drawer is a section of plastic gutter with varnished maple end caps and spacer held in place with 3 wood screws and a plastic drawer pull on the end.

The street side cap is secured with a bungee cord (see photo).

All totaled this mod cost about $60 and took about 3 hours (engineering as I go).

That's way too awesome! A lot of thought went into that design.

Thanks! I figured it would be best to keep the "funk" out of my front cargo area (my bed is right above it). Plastic container for the sewer hose didn't appeal to me.

Wish I could take credit for the idea of using 5x5 post for the container and gutter for the slide out, but found those ideas in the forums. The fastening to the frame was my design.

It's fun taking these ideas and adding your own twist!
