Anyone using Sniff and Stop?

My wife was told that this is a great product for helping to keep mice out during the off-season. Anyone have any positive or negative comments/experiences?

And please, no lectures on cleaning the RV before storing. It's thoroughly vacuumed and everything washed with Pinesol before storing....

We have not used it, but I took the approach to eliminate any possible entrance so I foamed EVERY opening I could locate. Amazing how many I came across. I also foamed along the frame and bottom underlay, every opening between the living space and underside... there were 4 behind the battery charge controller and by the stove.

So far we have been lucky, no mice, lizards or Palmetto bugs either (we live in Florida)

Wife puts out containers of Pure Peppermint oil and dryer sheets.. all together something is working.

This exactly except the peppermint, we use the packets of cab fresh someone here recommended a while back. Live traps under the sinks just in case, but so far with the above precaution we haven't seen any signs. Before the foaming every possible thing closed we were catching a mouse or more a week in traps.

I have always bought into the effectiveness of dryer sheets and moth balls as a deterrent. Used them our campers for years now and knock on wood have never had mice. However, I have a small utility shed at my house that I have seen a few mice in this fall. Figured since it worked in the camper I would try pushing them out of the shed. Was very surprised when I opened my shed door last week to find they had started shredding the dryer sheets and they had crapped all over the moth ball bags.

Dryer sheets don't work... my buddy had them throughout his Jayco they used them as toilet paper.. Amazon has a great product called Cab Fresh allegedly used by farmers to keep mice out of the tractor cab.. Nice smell to it too..

We have a very remote cabin that we use as a getting away place that became over run with mice. I decide to remove all the carpet to expose the 24"wide floor boards, which I did. Now I need to put something on them to preserve them so I decided on Turpentine and linseed oil mixed 50/50. I put in really heavy as the wood flooring was very dry. We closed the cabin that year for the winter months and when we return in the spring all the mice were gone and we had just a slight smell of the mix that I has used on the floor. So I shall try a mix of Turp and linseed oil on a small piece of sponge in a clean tuna fish can soaking with my mix. I will place several thru out the coach. I know they will work.

I remember in the old days, my grand parents would open a closet and it would reek of MOTH BALLS. Well, since then there has been some investigation into the use of moth balls... read below ... glad we never used them in the TT

We use mothballs OUTSIDE the TT and TV (actually 'moth cakes'; same stuff just in a plastic holder).

We had a pack rat problem in the TV and a MH a few years ago - we were storing them outdoors and not using them. Moth cakes hung on the frame outside and underneath those vehicles kept the pack rats away. There was barely an detectable odor inside the vehicles and it dissipated quickly once windows were opened.

I believe the moth cakes work on mice, too, but I haven't had conclusive 'before and after' use to verify that.

I've had to take care of 8 mice in the last 2 days around my house (we have chickens) I sure hope my camper is ok over the winter where it's parked. I didn't do anything in the mouse deterrent category this year. There's no food in there, but I know that won't stop them from building a nest in/with my insulation. I'll probably go check on it sometime this week and look for evidence of the little b*stards and then come up with a plan if needed.

We can go with night vision goggles and a BB gun, live traps, sticky traps, dryer sheets, various poisons (not my preference)... will adapt to the threat accordingly.

Come on bansai, old technology... you need to catch up... the below technology coupled with micro motion sensors to alert you and you can care for them right from the comfort of your warm living room while watching Tv.

Don

Wait I should update the post regarding battery theft.. motion sensor and a remote controlled stun gun... think of the possibilities... limitless

Same...

Although the more appropriate title in that case would probably be sniff and RUN!

My new puppy just crop-dusted me for the 8th time this morning. /I digress.
