HitchGrip HG712 Hitch Coupling Tool

I've had my eyes on a HitchGrip HG712 Coupling Tool for some time now because I've got a bad back and I hate getting greasy hands, but I couldn't justify spending $36.
Amazon dropped the price to around $26 so I jumped on it and I'm glad I did.

Cool

I almost bought one too. But I bought a 5th wheel instead....

Seriously, had I kept my TT, I would have bought one. It looks like a back saver!

I have been thinking about buying one. $26 is a much better price. Have you used it much? What are your honest thoughts?

I throw my back out (again) this time while tearing my rotatory cuff. So I have been making my eldest do the hitch work. He really does not like it, it is heavy, and weights half as much as he does.

It's a no-brainer; I've used it twice and I'm totally sold on it. It's a well made tool.
I keep the head of my Equal-i-zer WHD lubed up pretty good and this eliminates the mess.

Thanks for the heads up, I just ordered one. After watching the video of the guy hunched over walking the hitch to his TV, I said, that's me. No more aching back....

Probably the best money I've spent so far on any accessories! It's a fantastic tool...

I have been wondering about and looking at this tool myself. So as wanderlust did I could not pass up on the lower price and bought one myself.

I just upgraded to the 14K Equalizer and the 2.5" shank so I am really hoping this will make moving the hitch head around easier.

Nice tool I'm sold. What kind of lube do you buy and do you put it on the ball? Also there is a grease fitting on my WDH can anyone tell me what color of grease I should use? Or have suggestions on a brand?

Thanks in advance!

I use a white spray lithium grease on both the ball and inside the tongue. Color really doesn't matter as it will get that nice "greasy" look....

HitchGrip works so well I wish I'd had it sooner. No more grease on me, no more deadlifting that awkward, toe smashing hitch! You won't be sorry

Looks like a lot of HitchGrip users out there. I bought mine on sale 2 years ago and think its the best thing since hot buttered bread. Can't live without it now and no more back straining.

Happy RVing,
Jeff

If you are looking at getting a HitchGrip- Rvupgrades.com has the Hitchgrip tool for $19.95 +shipping. A bit lower than Amazon unless you have "Prime" and depending where you live. If you purchase more than $99.00 worth of stuff from them shipping is free.

I use Liquid Wrench White Lithium Grease on the outside to the 2 sockets where the bars go into on the head. I don't put any on the ball; should I?

X2, RV Upgrades has some excellent prices and this hitch grip is even cheaper than Amazon. As Explorer03 said, if you order enough for $99 shipping is free.

I recently ordered a Stromberg Carlson Trailer Tray from them. It was less than
$200, when Amazon and Stromberg had it for $20 and $80 dollars more, respectively. Their trailer tray was even cheaper than most people sold the S/C Bike Bunk for.

Buy the Hitch Grip. It seems expensive but I personally think it is well worth the price. Like a previous post, I also use white lithium grease. I started using the spray first and ended up with a little overspray on the truck so I went back to the lithium in the tube.
