12 volt question

I need to install a 12 volt light on each side of the bay doors for night time convenience- Where will I find the wiring to tap into? What color are the 2 wires I need? Should I just go to the battery box and run wires from there? What type of fusing do I need? THANX in advance for all replies- I'm sure someone on the forum has "been there, done that"- DD

Don, I don't know your unit but feel your pain. I solved the same issue by buying a couple of battery operated LED motion detector lights ($8.00 at Lee Valley..a Canadian store). They detect body heat, not movement, so the jiggling of equipment stored in the compartment won't set the lights off. I can open the basement, stick my hand in, and get 60seconds of light. Just enough to do whatever I need to at night.
