16" wheels on 2016 Eagle HT 27.5

Any one have issues with the Lug Nuts stripping on upgraded 16" wheels? When I went to tighten the lug nuts prior to a trip one of the lugs just slipped. I now can't tighten or loosen.

Were you using a torque wrench?

Using a regular tire wrench will strip the lug nut. Learned by experience. Use torque wrench and correct mm socket.

I wonder if you stripped the knurled part that goes into the hub. Maybe they over tightened them from the factory. If the lug nuts spinning then the bolt part is stripped.

I tried a torque wrench with a 3/4" socket and the way the rim is designed the socket would not fit properly so I used a four way. Again not enough clearance. So I tried the wrench the rig came with just to see if I could remove the lug or even tighten it. No luck it just spun. I called Jayco customer service and they said take it to the dealership and send photos of the lug to them. So i was just wondering if anybody else had had this issue with the upgraded 16" wheels from Jayco? Also I read where Torque Wrench were designed to tighten not to loosen.

Go ducks was correct. The chrome outer knuckle was strip on two lugs. They were over tightened at the factory. The dealer showed me how to remove the chrome knuckle by using a hammer and flat bladed screw driver and tapping the center of the knuckle and then tapping either side allowing the screw driver blade to cut through the chrome knuckle. Once you cut through one side you can pull off the knuckle. Now you can get to the lug to tighten or loosen. What bad design. Anyways thanks for all the comments.
