2015 Jayco 29.5 BHDS

Hello, I am new to this forum and thought I would ask a couple of questions to see if any of you have the same "minor" issues that I am having with storage. While there is plenty, the overhead cabinets are very tall, which I have a stool so that isn't a problem, but wondering since there are drawers under the sink, where are you all putting the soap, scubber for washing dishes?? Plates, cups, food? Just would like to see if any of you have some ideas that I am missing.
Thanks in advance for you help!

Welcome to the forum. I do not have the trailer you have so can not add anything.

I have the same trailer. We have not figured out a "system" yet. What we do for the items you mentioned.

-Soap/Scrubber - leave in sink while on the road. When camping we just set the dish soap out and leave the scrubber in the sink. We leave covers on most of the time. Normally though we do dishes outside in a large basin so these aren't inside and an issue.

- Plates, cups, dishes etc - All go on the shelves above the sink. My wife with a small collapsible stool, can reach aloost everything except the way back of the top shelf.

- Food - it's a mix. Much of it we leave in our outside pantry as we almost always cook outside. Otherwise we put it in the cupboards above the TV. Only trouble we have with this is that it is such a huge expanse on those shelves, food slides all over. We are trying to find a way to either block the back half, or find some kind of plastic containers to slide in and out of the shelves to keep food in place.

We love everything about this trailer but I do believe the interior kitchen storage is an issue. Lots of room but not easy to use. Since we cook outside though, it hasn't been a sticking point for us.

We do pretty much the same as UPC. My wife is 5' 2", I bought her a Costco step stool. It has 3 steps. Its kinda a pain to deal with really, but it does come in handy for other things and I use it myself from time to time. It folds up flat and makes it easy enough to store. We still like everything else about our camper so well that this issue doesn't really bother us much.

I have had my unit for 2 weeks. My wife and I had fun trying to figure out where to put everything. I would have to agree with UPC and Sledge though. We have so much more space and room than are former Jayco 228, that I don't think we are going to complain. My wife and I are big on storage totes that slide in and out and keep things together. In this world full of every imaginable shape and size of plastic totes, I don't think we will have a problem. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new fiver !!

Wolverine, glad to hear you have been as happy with your trailer as Sledge and myself. Did you get everything figured out?

I wouldn't say I have it all figured out, as much as you can without camping in it yet. I am sure camping 101 is right around the corner once we go out on Memorial Day. Could not be happier and more proud of my purchase. This is my 3rd Jayco and hopefully my last for a very long time. Thanks for asking.

step stool and small plastic baskets to help organize and to push things to back and still be able to reach basket to retrieve. the surprise storage we found was under rear lower bunk. dealer never showed us that it was there.

Yeah. This trailer is a storage warehouse!

Since yall are talking about the 29.5 BHDS... I have had mine about 2 weeks. Has anyone had an issue with the dinette twisting when you slide it in? Mine popped 2 screws out.

I would check out the space behind some of the "false walls" they install. I picked up additional room under the fridge as well as under the sink by relocating those walls farther back. I think they install them at the factory the easiest way without regard to getting more storage.

Haven't had a problem with this. Better call your dealer.

I plan on it. Just as the slide is almost all the way in the back rest of the dinette closest to the front twist as the slide lifts up just a little. Other than that we LOVE our camper!!

In about 65 nights of camping in ours, we've had very little problem with it. Most of the issues very little small things and Im a pickey person lol.

If I had to replace our camper today, Id buy another one just like it.
