2016 Jayco 29.5 BHDS (NEED HELP)

So I have been battling this issue of keeping my propane door closed. The Cam Locks turn on their own as I'm driving down the road and then the door opens and flaps. I have bungee it shut but now its starting to pull the hings. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Isn't the latch on the inside adjustable, if not maybe bend it in a little to make the gap smaller, also look at where the latch mates to on the body.

Take to your dealer. After all it's under warranty. Or if it's not convenient to bring to the dealer, call them for a fix.

You could always replace the cam lock with one that has a key so that it doesn't turn during travel. But then you have one more lock that you would have to deal with.

I had the same problem. When I was on my way to Nashville, I noticed they had moved, so I closed up the gap on the latch and the frame of the opening. What I ended up doing was with a pair of plyers, I pulled the frame out a little, so it closed the gap. They arent real tight, but they stay put for the most part.

We had the same problem with our 29.5 as well. And, the fix was so easy that I didn't even think about it. My wife simply asked: why can't we turn the cam locks 45 degrees, so the cam will always falls clockwise? Thus, keeping the door shut. So, we simply loosen up the lock's inside screw and turned the whole assembly 45 degrees. Problem solved! Our door, now, does not open when we're towing!

You might also check the gasket in the door... ours (2017 29.5BHDS) keeps slipping out of the groove... when it does that, the door is not tight to the trailer frame, and it could open easily.

The only trick I found was to loosen the wing nut as high as you can, then remove the notched bar from each of the tank flanges. Once you have the bar off, rotate either tank to where the flange cut-out faces either front or rear of rig. Then, you should be able to wiggle each tank out. It's a pain, but you'd get used to it after doing it a few times.

Good luck!
