It's a nice hitch , I have being leaning toward the turnover ball hitch by B&W and the Anderson Ultimate hitch but I'm still doing my homework.

I'm a first time 5th wheel owner and have the Seismic Wave 310W and went with the Anderson Ultimate hitch for 3 reasons. Cheaper than a B&W slider, less weight and no need to ever get out for tight turns like you do with a slider.

I've never used a 5th hitch so I can't tell you first hand experience of the pros/cons between the 2 but I know the Anderson Ultimate hitch has less working parts to move, make noise or deal with.

Awesome, thank you for that and more and more I'm learning this setup.

I too am waiting on my first fifth wheel.. I didn't realize the Anderson ultimate negated the need for a slider? I've got a short box f250, and I'd love to not have to deadlift some of these sliders around.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

The Anderson Ultimate is interesting, and definitely lighter than a slider. However, I don't see how it can take the place of a slider. If your pin is in the same location relative to the tv's rear axle (which is where you want it) then you will still have a problem with swing clearance between th truck cab and the trailer nose.

I will stick with a slider and figure out how to get it in and out later.

It's not the same position, it's offset. The top of the pyramid where the ball is at is behind the gooseneck ball. The adapter that then connects to that ball is in front of the king pin.

I'm not going to lie - The Andersen Aluminum Ultimate 5th wheel looks TOO good to be true..? This video shows the hitch and a fifth wheel in a 5 1/2 box .. I have a larger short box, so it very well may be true that no slider would be needed for me..

.. The whole video can be a bit cheesy, but the pictures of it turning in a 5 1/2 box start around 0:25 seconds ..

If this does as advertised, why would anyone buy anything else? (Obvious exception you tow more than one fifth wheel and don't want to put that receiver on all your pin boxes.)

**UPDATE**
Found this video from Anderson.. Just a shortbox video with the hitch.

Tomorrow I'll take some measurements and a video so you can see the clearance on my 2011 F250 short bed to help give you more of a look at it. If it helps you make a decision to either get it or not to get it, I'll be happy to have helped.

The extra 200lbs or whatever the exact lbs is of the B&W Companion Slider is was valuable weight for me since I'm at the limit for what I'm towing. The cheaper cost and the fact I don't ever have to get out of my truck were bonuses.

Big1 - I have to hook up to it and pull it out of the driveway this afternoon to start getting it ready for our Myrtle Beach trip on Wednesday. I'll take a video and will post it later this afternoon.

A buddy of mine was over yesterday looking at it as he's about to get a 5th wheel and is interested in the Anderson.

Awesome, no worry I see that you going to Myrtle Beach the wife and I was there last year and love it. I grew up in N.C so I decided to stay in WA. I would love to take a trip to MB in my 5th wheel one day.

Not yet. We got home with it had some lunch and went back out to just hang out and look and think. We have a lot of stuff to go through and clean before trying to figure out where everything is going. Then the loading will begin (probably will start tomorrow.

This is a long time coming but a video I made about the Andersen Ultimate, sorry for the shaky video, I had the camera in the truck and it was running in the start of the video.
