317RLOK Owners

A question for any 317 RLOK owners that I haven't been able to answer myself by looking all over the web.

How wide is the couch?

Wondering if at 6 ft tall I could lay down on it if I wanted to.

I'll bump this up and ask another question:

Is anyone pulling this model with a 2500HD?

It looks to be within my capabilities. Even with the washer/dryer I plan to add up front.

The thing that really draws me to this unit is the outside kitchen. I have an outside kitchen on my sunset trail and love it.

My North Point is a bit longer and heavier than the Eagle and my 2500 Duramax does just fine. I don't think you will have an issue. I do enjoy the outside kitchen.

I pull mine with an 2013 F350 Powerstroke SRW.
With a 3/4 ton (F250/2500) you may be over what it can legally handle.
I have been to the scales and recorded the following measurements:

TOW VEHICLE ONLY (No Hitch - Just wife and I)
Steer Axle - 5000 lb
Drive Axle - 3380 lb
Trailer Axle - 0 lb
Gross Weight - 8380 lb

TOW VEHICLE WITH 317RLOK
Steer Axle - 4920 lb
Drive Axle - 6240 lb
Trailer Axle - 9680 lb
Gross Weight - 20840 lb

TOW VEHICLE CAPABILITIES (sticker inside drivers door)
FRONT GAWR: 5600 lb
REAR GAWR: 7000 lb
GVWR: 11500 lb
GCWR: 23500 lb
RATED CAPACITY = 3420 lb

MY CALCULATIONS
PIN WEIGHT: 6240 - 3380 = 2860 lb(loaded camper)
WITHIN TV RATED CAPACITY: = 2860<3420 (YES)
WITHIN REAR GAWR: 6240<7000 lb (YES)
WITHIN GCWR: 20840<23500 lb (YES)

So unless I made a mistake in my calculations I am well within the ratings. Not sure if you would be within your ratings on 2500 HD.
But maybe my numbers can give you an idea of what you may be looking at.

Good Luck,

Dean

I just measured the couch it is 5'. My 14 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi pulled alright, But struggled a bit in the Rocky Mountains. My 16 Ram 3500 6.7 Cummins does a much better job.

After staring at a million floor plans from different manufacturers my wife and I are pretty much settled on the 317RLOK.

Going to Florida for a few months next Monday. Planning on going to the Tampa RV show and hopefully looking at one there.

I'm thinking I will be ok pulling it, but going to add helper springs to boost my rear end to 3500hd status anyway, and have a look at my tires capability.
