35CLQS Hot Water Heater (Atwood)

I am unable to get my hot water heater to work properly. It seems no water is getting to it? I am hooked up to a city supply. Do I need to fill fresh tank and turn on pump to get hot water? I there possibly a bypass feature? This is our first trip in this 5th wheel so I am still in a learning curve....Thanks in advance for any and all advice..

I suspect there is a bypass on the ho****er heater. I believe most Jayco products do have a bypass. It should be opened to allow the water into the tank. If the tank is empty, do not turn on the water heater. You could cause damage to the heater.

What is the year & model? Look on the back of the water heater for some valves and post reply.

Thanks to all for the responses and inquiries. The Jayco model is a 2005 35 CLQS Designer Legacy. This is our first RV and we are excited with our purchase and what lies ahead. I have a utility panel with levers that allow me to select city connection, city fill, normal, which I assume is via pump and fresh water tank, winterization and one other option which I can't recall right now. I assumed the last setting was winterization as all faucets were pink with antifreeze during the first few seconds of being run off the city connection. Is it possible the bypass valve has stuck in winterization mode or could there be a mechanical bypass that I can't seem to locate? We will be heading for Pensacola in Jan for two months so I have a few weeks to work this issue out. Looking forward to being a active participant in this forum and maybe meeting you all down the road...... Thank you.

It has to be the bi-pass valve, make sure it is turn the right way.
