OK now that you have a plethora of numbers rolling around in your head from all the replies I will tell you what I have without overloading you with stats. Were pulling the 377 with a 2007 Chevy 2500 SRW diesel with airbags to help with the tongue weight. We know that were over on the "recommendations" that GM has out there and we plan to go with a 3500 SRW diesel as soon as we can. We are only doing the short trips until the new rig is saved up for. Our truck pulls just fine, starts and stops just like it did with much lighter 5ers.

Thanks for all the replies. You've given me lots to think about. I can definitely see pros and cons to both (SRW vs DRW). I think a test drive of the trucks on my short list is next in order.

Kahoneys nailed exactly where I am! RAM 2500 Cummins SRW, with Timbrens..... Yes, I know that I'm "overweight", but it pulls fine!

Thanks, you were right. I'd plucked the # from the gas owner's and my GCWR was 1500# light. The info below is from the Diesel supplement manual:

You made a comment about the 3.73 axle and I see it in the Axle Ratio column so it looks like it may have been an option for '13. I don't really remember if it was or not tho.
