38flsa new owner
I just returned from purchasing my first 5er ever, for that matter first camper ever. We have been looking for 2years and finally pulled the trigger this Saturday. We got the 38FLSA Jayco pinnacle. I was quite nervous about pulling a 42' long camper that weighs 15-16k lbs. I have a 2014 ram 2500 diesel and would like to report that the truck did great!!! No body roll or pushing from the trailer.
The camper is amazing! We have three kids and the front monster bed made from the two couches is just great!! We were able to sprawl out in the front living room and play and watch tv (it rained all day).
All in all I am very pleased with the purchase. If someone can tell me how to get a picture from my iPhone onto this post I will post a picture of the rig hooked up to truck at gas station today filing up on trip home (~4.5 hoir drive)

I'd suggest a visit to the CAT Scale to make sure your weights are within your truck's weight limits.
The CAT Scale is your friend.

Have the 38flfs and tow with my F350. I had my truck spec'd by a Louisville plant engineer based on our Pinnacle. You may be overweight. Agree you should visit a scale and verify soon. Good luck.

The 2014 Ram 2500 did fantastic with the 38FLSA i didn't have any issues with pulling it and never felt like it was to much on the truck. It is within the specs provided by RAM. The only difference between my 2500 and the 3500 is the spring weight on the rear. It has the same axles, engine, etc...I couldn't justify the extra cost. The only way I would go to a 3500 is to gain the DRW and for a daily driver that is not something I want.
I will admit that I was worried at first, but that is because the largest thing I had towed before this was a 19' car hauler trailor and ~9K lbs.

Wow Congratz! That is some long rig you have there. I was having a hard time backing up my 23 footer... But I guess getting better comes with practice.

It's counterintuitive but I've found as the length increases, the ease of backing increases as well. Maybe it's because you don't have as strong an inclination to overcompensate.

Wow, that's a nice looking set up, congrats, looks like the Dodge isn't squatting too much. I'm hoping to get our REQS Pinnacle on the back of my single wheel F-350 Ford next week, to see if I need to install bags, your looks great. Enjoy the season ahead of you.....
