5th wheel hitch questions

Ok, I have some questions about our new 5th wheel. I have a 2017 355MBQS being pulled by a 2106 Silverado 3500 HD with a B&W Companion hitch. Right now the camper is setting about 1-3/4" high in the front. I have about 7" of clearance between the top of the bed and the camper, although I only have 6" clearance between the rails for my tonneau cover and the camper. I have the hitch set at the middle holes, is it worth lowering the hitch? I have only pulled about 150 miles and it seems to pull very well.

No.

5th wheel hitch questions

No, just be careful if you are on really uneven ground. Like coming out of a gas station that sits below street level.

Who the hell do you know got you an advance copy of the 2106 Silverado 3500 HD? By then it should be able to tow the largest 70ft 5th wheels out there.

2106... LOL

I'd leave the hitch alone, clearance at the bed is good!

Do you have the springs moved to the lowest holes in the spring hangers? If so, I'd call it good enough and not worry about it.

Personally I would not worry about it . We have a Ram 3500 4x4 and it sits high. Some suggest it causes additional stress on rear axle of trailer. Might call manufacturer of axles. Happy Trails

I'm also in the "no" camp.

A couple of inches nose high isn't anything to be concerned about and you don't want to make any adjustment that will result in having less than 6 inches clearance.

I'd rather have that extra inch clearance over the bed rails, especially since you say it tows fine now.
