A little disappointed after our second trip with new trailer.

Well we just returned from a 2.5 week vacation up in the Green Mountains in Vermont. We were only there 2 days when my 7yr old (65lb)daughter stood up on the cushion of the dinette to turn on the light and broke through.
I couldn't believe how cheap the wood was that was used to support the seat. There was not a single screw and everything was just stapled. Well two out of the three supports were barely stapled on one end and gave way when she stood on it. Needless to say that all the supports(both sides)are now screwed together and have 3/8 plywood instead of the thin cardboard that was there..

I also ran into a problem with my gray tank overflowing. I will admit I didn't keep a close eye on the gauge and I should have just left the valve open. But after my wife and I showered then my two kids it was over full. But the water didn't fill the shower, it was leaking from the tank and through the underbelly material? I called the dealer and they told me that the tank has a overflow on it? I don't think it's suppose to drain onto the sealed underbelly is it??? I figured it should all be sealed and when it's overfull the shower and sink would start filling up?? Thoughts??

Thanks, Kevin

My 28BHBE gray tank has no overflow and I know that for a fact as we had the water back up into the shower. Yours is the second post I've seen where the dinette support (or lack thereof) gave way. That is unacceptable and changes need to be made by Jayco. My middle daughter is a bit on the heavy side and not very gentle. I worry everytime she sits down...

I agree Kevin. That's a pretty cheap deal! I also replaced mine with 3/8" plywood, mounted it on hinges and put a finger-hole in it so it would be easier to access the items below.

Could you post a picture or two of your improvements to the seats. I would like to figure out how to do it myself. They seemed very soft even though I weigh only 150, a lot less than the max they should be capable of supporting.

On a similar note the cushions seem very soft and give no support. Has anyone replaced the foam in them with something more resilient that does not bottom out?

I have never seen a grey tank with a overflow. Ours backs up into the lowest drain which is always the shower drain.

I get hollered at a lot when that happens.

My son complained about the dinette cushions when he had to sleep on them. I took them to the boat top upholstery guy at our marina and he replaced the foam with a marine grade foam. Now I don't get any more complaints.

No overflow on the gray tank as far as I know. First indication on my MHs was the shower pan would start filling up.

I'm calling B.S. on the tank overflow, that makes no sense at all. Next thing they'll tell you is the Black Tank has an overflow too?

^^ that. The shower is your grey tank overflow, anywhere else is a leak.
