additional storage space

I have picked up some additional storage space in our kitchen area I thougt I'd share. This applies to the 27.5 RLTS but may also apply to other units.

1. Under the sink to the left, there is a false panel installed to prevent items from getting back to the water heater connections and wiring. This panel can be moved back closer to the water heater and you can gain some additional storage space. I had to change a valve on the WH and noticed that there was lots of empty space behind that panel. I also installed a plexiglass window in the panel so I can visually check the valves and fittings for leaks without having to remove the panel. I also cut some off the top of the panel so I can reach over and shut the valves for winterizing.

2. In the storage space under the fridge, there is another false back. I removed that to find that it could be moved back about anothr 8". All that is behind that is the gas line to the fridge, a 4" sq junction box and some 12v wiring.

I suspect that the reason the panels are put in that close to the front of the cabinet is that it is just easier to do at the factory.

Thanks, is there a way you can send picture? Sounds like a great idea. I am not very good at these types of things, so a picture would help

Here's a pic of the water heater panel I modified. You can see the one hole in the bottom where the panel used to sit. When it comes to storage, every bit of useable space counts.
