Anxiously awaiting Eagle HT 28.5BHXB!

Hello all, brand new here, but about to own our 4th Jayco. The three previous ones have all been travel trailers, and we are excited to move up to a 5th wheel. We'll be towing with a 2014 Ram CC 6.7 Cummins with the 6'4" bed. The 28.5 BHXB is the longest, largest, and heaviest in the HT line, so I'm glad we have plenty of truck! I think anyone trying to tow this particular unit with a half ton truck would be very disappointed! GVWR is 11k and dry hitch weight is 1590. Add a few hundred to the pin weight and you will be approaching the payload rating of the 3/4 ton really quickly! In any event I'm excited, albeit a bit nervous for this new unit/venture. Happy to be on here with some good folks willing to share information!

We were looking at that floorplan, but they weren't taking orders for it when we pulled the trigger. I really wanted to walk through one, but the wife was set on the 29.5BHDS.

I for one wish that the 29.5BHDS that we ordered had an "increased payload" option that would have brought the numbers up to what yours is offering. We didn't need the lightweight, but our floorplan was only available in lightweight. I've got a 350, so weight isn't as critical for me.

We are blessed to have a 19 year old daughter that has been going on RV trips since being a toddler. She still loves to go, and sometimes brings a friend, this gives her a room to herself. And the addition of the 1/2 bath will be helpful too! I am starting to see this floor plan show up on lots around the country, so hopefully ours won't be too far off.

We just brought the 28.5BHXB home this past weekend, we love it so far! If there are any questions, etc just ask!

It is our second fifth wheel, we downsized a bit from a 2004 Open Road (Pilgrim International) that was 12K pounds "dry" and about 38 feet long overall.

The 28.5BHXB is 35 feet overall but just under 10K "dry". Our SRW F250 diesel tows it like a dream. Can't imagine towing it with a "half ton" truck, though.

We took delivery back in April, ours saw a lot of use this year including trips to Yellowstone and RMNP. Still very happy with our purchase, it's performed like a champ!
