Any clue where this goes

My bedroom ac will kick compressor in and out about every 5-10 min while fan continues to run. Called airexel and was told could be low airflow or sensor in evap and to remove inside shroud and check it out. Pulled down inside shroud and this was just laying in there. Any idea why this piece is there or where it goes?

I assume this piece is to go up where the two built in ducts are to seal the fan from evap side. I cannot believe it was just wedged in place. Sealed with foil tape so it will never move now. Just ran it for an hour and works as it should. Bathroom vent will now blow u over, before just light airflow
