Are we crazy?
We just put a $2,000 deposit down on a 2015 but new 36f BTS Pinnacle.
Out the door price total was 64.5k. Kind of nervous about the purchase but I think we got a fairly good deal.

You should pay 25%-35% off of MSRP.

Crazy is a "Relative" term. If you are happy with the purchase and are comfortable with the deal you negotiated then no need to go crazy. We all experience some form of buyers remorse, or regret after a purchase. We do more research after the fact and then beat ourselves up over it. Go enjoy the camper and make some memories!

Welcome aboard, Chief! As others said, crazy isn't "bad", as long as you are happy with it. Best wishes for smooth sailing with the new unit, and THANK YOU for your service!

I paid a little more than I wanted to but this was the exact layout I was looking for and it took over a year to find it. Never looked back and as a matter of fact we're always looking around the next bend in the road.

Crazy
The total out the door including taxes, license, pdi came to about 68% of msrp. Have some warranty questions in separate thread.
Thanks for the welcome!
We have been looking for months at grand design, arctic fox, orv, montana....etc. jayco seemed to have the best warranty, and we absolutely love this floorplan. I always hate having to find a place to dress while wife is using the bathroom. Lots of space in this setup. We hope to go full time in a few years.
Towing with a 2014 dodge ram 3500 dually.
This came with slide toppers and is all prepped for a generator. One thing i may do first off is replace the chinese tires. Anyone have any issues with them?
Thanks
Greg

Ha, you are definitely crazy...as are we all! Owning an RV is much like owning a boat or any depreciating assets. It is a darn shame we love the RVing lifestyle so much.
Enjoy the new RV!

There have been many discussions on the forums lately about replacing tires. Here's one to get you started; http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f1...res-37418.html

Chief, welcome to the JOF from an AF guy. The 35% mark up rule generally apllies to the purchase price (not out the door) so it sounds like you did well. You will love the Pinnacle line, as you said the best warranty on the market. My advice, swallow the sticker shock and now enjoy the freedom of the RV lifestyle. You bought the best on the market for a better than average price.

Forgot to concur with your thought to replace the Rainier tires. Our rig was on our third trip and a total of less than 1500 miles when one tire let go causing $1400 damage. Drove to the nearest Firestone; when they pulled the remaining tires off two of the three had 5" blisters on them, lucky we didn't lose more...
#1 suggestion, upgrade or replace the Chinese tires!

Welcome to the JOF Chief from a Jarhead and a graduate of the University of Viet Nam! As long as you and the wife are happy, that is what matters.

I am going to call the dealer today and ask them about installing the heavier brackets before pick up. Not concerned about the time frame to do it....just want it done. If they decline I may forfeit the $2K deposit.....my bad....and expensive lesson.
My inclination was to originally go with an AF 29-5K. I think they may be better built but the important half of my relationship did not like the layout....not enough storage. Just no way to win.

Chief, Welcome to the forum! I think you will love the FBTS. Once we got all the "bugs" out we are thoroughly enjoying ours. You really should replace the tires (and rims if necessary) the Rainiers are junk for such a heavy unit. Ours is a 2016 and we had a local weld shop repair the bent outriggers and Jayco paid for it but I am not sure if the 2015's have had that problem. Good luck to you and happy travels!
