Awning shade for North Point 377RLBH
Hey all. Where we do our dry camping, we are often facing the sun for a goodly part of the day, and the under the awning space gets hot. So I was thinking about something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013HG2TW0...I3SJJRQ8JS4Y7J but don't know if it will work.
We pick up our rig next week, hopefully, so I can't look, but thought I'd see if anyone else is doing this.

We use one every time we go to the beach for the week, and I feel it helps considerably.

How does it attach to your awning and can you roll it up with the awning?

I attach ours by using some clips that slide into the tubing of the awning, then use S clips to attach the two together. I'll see if I can find a link to what I'm talking about.
And no, you cannot roll it up in the awning. But, you can roll the clips below in the awning, just have to remove the S clips. I keep the S clips attached to the shade.

Does your Jayco have the lightweight Care-Free electric awnings?

I have one for my unit and it slides in the track and I can roll it up with the awning at night or when we leave the site. It does work well when the sun is on an angle that gets under the awning and to the unit.
There are a few versions out there. You have the hook version link up top of the thread. I had ordered that but did not like it due to the fact that it bunched and would not lay out flat. Also I had to take it off every time the awning had to come in due to the hooks. The version I have is the tube mount and it's the best option IMHO.
I would strongly recommend waiting and measuring the exact size you need as they come in various depths. See how your site sets up, measure the scope and then decide on one.

Not exactly sure of the "lightweight Care-Free" part, but electric yes. I'll have to check style and manufacturer next weekend when we are back down.

We pick up our rig on Friday, so we'll measure and see what we need. Gonna also check the type of awning, given that some of the brands have issues!

My brother in law has one of these that 3'senough has. It also slides in the track for easy roll up. He swears by it.

I use these. They can be unzipped quickly and awning can be retracted if needed (bad weather ect.) They are made by carefree so they have no issues when you roll the started piece up in the awning.

It looks good, but it states it's specifically for manual awnings, ours will have electric awnings. Does anyone have a recommendation for one like that but for electric awnings? I looked around, and most use the slot hooks. I'd love to find one that rolls up with the awning, that would be a Good Thing to have.

I don't see where it says specifically for manual awnings? Where did I miss that at?
I do see where it says for 12v awnings though.
And I'll just throw this out there concerning electric awnings. I may be in the minority, but I have had no different experiences with electric awnings as opposed the old style manual awnings. To me, they hold up and preform just as well, and I've had an electric awning for the past 5yrs. Ive done nothing different with my electric vs the manuals ive had. Again, maybe it's just me...

The installation manual on the Carefree site specifically gives instructions for both manual and electric awnings.

When you open the link above, and go to tech specs, there's a PDF for the install. This is the link that opened up there:

Might have to check this out, but have already had one of the two awnings on our 377 fail, so am a bit concerned about weight out on those arms!
