Axle weights limits versus GVW

Our HT Eagle axles are both rated at 4400# that would add up two 8800# the GVW is 9950 that is 7811# dry weight with the max cargo of 2139#. This doesn’t count for the GCWR rating of 12950#. Are the axles under sized?

What is Jayco listed "dry pin weight", 1150lbs? If so, I noticed this exact thing when looking at trailer last year, 2-4400lb axles with a gvwr of 95XXlbs.... They added in the "dry tw" to the axles rating for a higher gvwr.

Concerning the gcwr, the 12950lbs seems low for a GM 6.0 truck. And that rating is actually for the tv, which I want to say is about 20k lbs for your 6.0 truck, possibly depending on the cab and bed combo.... Can't recall if it changed a little based on those.

What need-a-vacation is pointing out is that part of the weight of the trailer is supported by the pin. That's the amount of the "dry pin weight." So you have to add that to the capacity of the axles.

Thanks for the reply, I forgot about the dry pin weight. The GVWR is the fifth wheel not the TV. The fifth wheel has a tow hitch.

And the GCW includes a trailer weight. Probably 2500, 3000 or 3500 pounds. Adding axle capacity, dry hitch weight and trailer weight should get you close top that GCW rating.
