Bathroom Lighting

Just purchased a new 2017 Eagle 317rlok. The bathroom has three light switches. I think it was miswired because one of the white bright lights comes on with the blue night light. Anyone have this same issue and corrected it so that only the blue nightlight comes on by itself?

Yes, the blue night light should be on its own switch. All ceiling lights on one and the medicine cabinet light on the other. Could be an easy fix or a nightmare. The dealer PDI should of caught this. I'd throughly go over the whole trailer inside and out, top to bottom for anything else missed.

I missed this on the pdi. My local dealership made it clear that they will not work on anything that is not purchased thru them. I pulled the switch box out of the wall and there is a single wire to each switch along with the power wire. I need to connect the two white lights together on one switch leaving the other switch to run the blue nightlight. Any idea where these wires are connected? From what I have read Jayco won't release the wiring diagram.

And this is why I will have a hard time buying another Jayco. I love my trailer but we have had a few issues and I have been told by three different Jayco dealers that they will not work on my trailer if I did not purchase it from them. Last summer we were 300 miles away from home. We were staying for two months and the trailer had a water leak which was leaking through the basement and out the bottom of the trailer. The Jayco dealer that was 10 miles away would not look at it because I did not but it from them. I had another dealer that didn't even sell Jayco come to me and fix my problem in 30 minutes.

Hey jerm, don't blame Jayco for that dealer situation. A lot of dealers of any trailer brand have that same philosophy, just like some car dealers. Jayco is a good trailer, it's some of the dealers that really suck! I've been in a similar situation far from home and the local Camping World Jayco dealer took care of my problem right away. Glad you got it fixed quickly from a reputable dealer.
Happy RVing,
Jeff

I'd report to Jayco any dealer that refuses to work on a unit. Doubt they will do anything, but you never know. That's poor business. They can make money on service and/or warranty work whether they sold the unit or not. My local dealer will work on units not bought there. But they will tell you their customers that bought from them are first during the busy seaons. Also any dealer should help someone when they are out of their home area. They can't expect the unit was bought from them when your hundreds or thousands of miles from home. Money made is money made. Such poor GM's at some of these dealerships.

I dont blame Jayco because when I called them they were great and helped me out. I just can not find a good Jayco dealer near me or where I camp. My next trailer will be from Fun and Sun Rv in Coopersville Michigan since they took care of me. I just wished they would sell Jayco

Did you know that Jayco will authorize non-dealers to make warranty repairs? There have been others on this site in a similar situation to yours. A call to Jayco was all it took have the repair done by a non-dealer and covered (or reimbursed) by Jayco.

Jayco released the wiring diagram when I asked on a new htt. You need your Vin number. Call them and tell them you have a miss wired light and the local dealer refused to work on it as you did not purchase the unit from them. They will send it to you.

This is what I wrote to Jayco:
I just took delivery of a 2017 Eagle 317rlok. I missed a lighting issue when I did the pdi. There are two white lights in the bathroom in the ceiling and a blue nightlight in the ceiling. The nightlight is wired to one of the white lights and the other switch operates the other white light. My dealer is 8 hours from home. The nearest dealer to me has made it clear they won't work on anything I don't purchase from them. I would like to know if I could get a wire diagram sent to me or tell me where the wires are so that I can fix this issue.

This is the response from Jayco.
"We do not send out those schematics to retail customers please contact your dealer to have this work performed by a tech so as not to void any part of your warranty."

Obviously they didn't even read it, just sent out the standard response. They don't even seem to care to solve a simple issue.
