So, first fifth wheel, trip shake down and owners forum. Got our 2012 Eagle 31.5 RLTS and it's in perfect condition! My question is can the batteries be damaged by leaving it plugged into shore power too long. Nothing turned on, should there be? Plugged into 30 amp service.
No. It won't hurt a thing. Today's converters are designed to maintain the batteries properly.

The problem is that the older trailers may have single mode 13.6VDC converter/charger installed. The 13.6VDC is right on the edge of boiling out your battery fluids over time. 13.2VDC is fine for this...
Your 2012 trailer may have a single mode converter/charger unit installed and this will work ok being left plugged into 24/7 but you must check your battery fluids. I did mine at least every two weeks when mine was hooked to to a 13.6VDC charger system.
The work around for this would be just get a battery maintainer or pehaps a low WATTAGE solar panel - just something to trickle charge (top-off) your batteries.
Today I don't ever find my battery fluid levels low using the multi-stage smart mode converter/charger unit. I however still out of habit and can't really afford buying batteries all the time will check my fluid levels every couple of weeks...
