Battery cut off switch

I have a battery cut off switch question.

We recently purchased a 2011 Pinnacle 35 LKTS and unable to located a battery cut off switch. My question is, does Jayco install the switches in their fifth wheels or is it an option?

When we looked at a 2013 Pinnacle before buying our 2011, I noticed a large red (Blue Sea brand?) cut off switch on the back wall of the battery compartment. No such switch in our Pinnacle. Our former Keystone Raptor toy hauler had a push/pull switch in the living area that was very convenient. Unlike the batteries in our former fifth where the batteries remained strong over a few months, the Pinnacle's batteries run down in a week or two while just sitting.

I'm prepared to install a cut off switch if there is not one.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Rick

I don't know what the criteria is but some come with cut-off switches and some do not. Ours did not and I am going to install one as soon as I figure out which one to purchase. For now, I just disconnect the battery cables while in storage.

When I bought mine my dealer told me that they install them. He kept bragging about it as a free $50 option they install no charge.

My battery cut off switch is in the battery compartment. In my opinion it is a very inconvenient location for it.

I installed one in the battery compartment. I found a inexpensive inline one at my local auto parts store.

.

For my RV, I installed a manual battery switch on the trailer's tongue area. And, I installed it properly. re: Regardless if battery switch is ON or OFF, the trailer's emergency brake away switch will continue to have brakes. If one installs their own manual battery switch, ensure one installs it to only switch power to only RV's "main chassis" - instead of switching ALL 12V power. Thus, never worry if 12V battery switch is set within ON or OFF position (or vibrates to its OFF position while towing).

Nice drawing Spike, you must be an electrical engineer with that drawing. When the factory installs a battery cut off switch I believe they are required by code to have the break away switch hot all the time.
